Beane Bag style air filter fabrics and seamless tube air filter
bags offer a unique and patented concept in energy efficient - cost
efficient air filter fabrics for
dust collector baghouse systems.
Unlike conventional woven and needled textiles, seamless tube Beane
Bag style is a circular knit fabric consisting of a patented "loop
pile" surface. The thickness and fiber density of a circular
knit fabric provides a high permeability, reducing pressure drop
conditions, with excellent filtration efficiencies of 99.5 to 99.99%.
The physical movement of the "loop pile" surface on the
cleaning cycle easily removes heavy dust formations while preventing
blinding or plugging of the fabric. Eliminating the seam also offers
additional filter area providing increased air flow. Available in
popular 4.7", 5", 6" and 8" diameters, flat
width fabrics are also manufactured for large diameter filter bags.
Beane Bag style fabrics are designed to provide lower resistance
to air flow than conventional woven and felted fabrics.
This makes it possible to; increase air flow through the system
increase dust pick-up vacuum, and significantly reduce pressure
drop differentials. High pressure drop conditions across a baghouse
system considerably increased the energy consumption required to
operate the system. It follows, that if the high pressure drop condition
can be corrected and reduced, the energy savings that result, could
be substantial. Such results are now common using the high efficiency
Beane Bag style and in many instances the capacity of previously
undersized and inefficient baghouse systems has been increased.
Application
The Beane Bag style air filter can be used in your baghouse system
regardless of the bag cleaning method employed (i.e. Pulse-Jet,
Shaker, or Reverse-Air). Bag cleaning energy is transmitted to the
self-cleaning loop pile structure on the dust side of the air filter.
The unique flexing action of the loop pile dust surface is designed
to break up the accumulated dust cake and discharge it efficiently
in seconds, not minutes. Time and cleaning energy are saved, in
addition to minimizing wear and tear on both filter bags and bag
cleaning mechanisms; which results when frequent and excessive bag
cleaning is necessary.
Installation
Installation is simplified with Beane Bag style Seamless tube filter
bags. No longitudinal seams, means bags are straight and true, not
banana shaped. There are no bag seams to line up, and no lumpy seams
on turned-back cuffs; which means a perfect seal every time with
either snap-ring, or clamp-on bag types.
Stretch Factor
The unique stretch factor built into Beane Bag style fabrics is
designed to maintain correct filter bag tension, and also to ensure
that filter bag-cleaning energy is fully utilized. How? It is a
fact that about 50% of bag-cleaning energy is wasted on loosely
fitted filter bags. Also, that this is a major cause of premature
filter bag wear, particularly in the case of Shaker type bags.
Beane Bag Style - Seamless Tube Benefits
Improved airflow efficiency plus effective filter bag cleaning,
means lower pressure-drop readings across baghouse systems equipped
with the High efficiency Beane Bag Style Filters. Problems with
undersized and inefficient Baghouse Units can be solved. And in
many instances baghouse capacity can be increased with simple Fan
Modification. Reduced airflow resistance and lower pressure-drop
readings, add up to significant energy savings. Fans don't work
as hard. Shakers don't shake as long. And in the case of Pulse-Jet
systems, tests have proved that in many cases, compressed air consumption
can be reduced by up to 50%, due to the superior self-cleaning ability
of the Beane Bag Style Filter.
Energy Savings
As each kWh will increase in the years to come, energy savings are
becoming more attractive, High pressure drop conditions across a
baghouse system considerably increases fan energy consumption. If
the high pressure condition can be corrected and reduced, fan energy
savings that result could be substantial. As an example, a reduction
of 3" w.g. static pressure across a unit handling 56,000 ACFM
can result in fan energy savings of approximately $4,000.00 per
year.
Static Eliminator
It is generally acknowledged that uncontrolled electrostatic build
up or discharge in a baghouse, could result in explosion or fire,
in cases where dusts of powders sensitive to ignition are being
handled. In such instances, the use of anti-static filter bags should
be given serious consideration. Beane Bag Style Static Eliminator
fabric made with the addition of electrically conductive fibres,
can improve baghouse safety by constantly drawing off static charges
to ground, High voltages are not allowed to build up, thus minimizing
the potential for "sparking" or arcing to occur. The use
of the Static Eliminator fabric will also combat "Static Cling"
or serious cases of dust hang up, due to opposing Static charges
between the dust and the filter bag, which prevents the bag from
releasing the dust cake.
The Bottom Line
By now you probably think that with all the Beane Bag Style Filter
has to offer, they will cost a lot more than the bags
you are using now. Not so. You will find that the Beane Bag Style
Seamless Tube, ounce for ounce, is in the same price range as the
conventional woven and felted filter bags you've been using for
years!
